Claudio Coccoluto morto – È morto Claudio Coccoluto, 59 anni, uno dei più importanti dj d’Europa, conosciuto a livello mondiale. Protagonista in consolle da oltre quarant’anni. L’artista, originario di Gaeta, in provincia di Latina, si è spento alle 4.30 di stamattina nella sua casa di Cassino, accanto alla moglie Paola e ai figli Gianmaria e Gaia. Da un anno combatteva contro una grave malattia. Proprio nella giornata di ieri il Comune di Cassino aveva annunciato la realizzazione di un murale dedicato all’artista scomparso.

L’artista, originario di Gaeta, in provincia di Latina, aveva iniziato a fare il Dj a 13 anni, per hobby, nel negozio di elettrodomestici del padre sulle note di Maga Maghella di Raffaella Carrà. Alla fine degli anni settanta ha cominciato a far conoscere la sua voce attraverso Radio Andromeda, la prima emittente privata a Gaeta. Dal 1985 questa diventa la sua professione.

Le sue prime esperienze nei locali sono state al Seven Up di Gianola, una frazione di Formia e all’Histeria di Roma, chiamato da Marco Trani, altra figura molto importante nel mondo dei dj scomparso prematuramente a 53 anni e apprezzato per il suo virtuosismo ai piatti, a sostituire Corrado Rizza.

Chi era Claudio Coccoluto

Coccoluto ha partecipato spesso a eventi di livello europeo. È stato il primo dj del Vecchio continente a suonare al Sound Factory Bar di New York. Ha lavorato anche per Radio Deejay con il suo programma C.O.C.C.O. nel quale proponeva dj set e in diretta mixava e interagiva con gli ascoltatori.

Dal 1990 Coccoluto è anche produttore di materiale proprio; l’ultima pubblicazione è stata a giugno 2008 con l’album Imusicselection5 – Vynil Heart, raccolta di 14 tracce realizzata in un’unica sequenza di vinili ed effetti mixati a mano libera come in un club. Tra le sue produzioni, Do It Whitout Thinkin, Afromarslight, Mind Melody 3.0.
