Terremoto Croazia – Torna la paura in Croazia, già colpita duramente il 29 dicembre scorso: una nuova scossa di magnitudo 5.2 è stata avvertita nel pomeriggio con epicentro a sud est di Zagabria, in Croazia. Lo riferiscono i media locali.
Il nuovo sisma è stato registrato intorno alle 18 (stessa ora italiana) con epicentro non lontano da Petrinja, località a una cinquantina di km a sudest di Zagabria rimasta semidistrutta per il violento terremoto di magnitudo 6.4 del 29 dicembre scorso. La scossa è rilevata avvertita anche a Trieste.
Come riporta l’edizione online de Il Messaggero, la nuova forte scossa si è registrata mentre nell’intera zona del cratere – che oltre a Petrinja comprende il capoluogo regionale Sisak, Glina, Majske Poljane – sono in pieno svolgimento le operazioni di soccorso e assistenza alle popolazioni colpite, con massiccio arrivo di aiuto anche dall’estero, Italia compresa.
Dalla violenta scossa 6.4 del 29 dicembre lo sciame sismico non si è mai arrestato, con scosse anche di magnitudo 4. Secondo dati diffusi dalle autorità croate, nella regione interessata dal sisma sono almeno 22 mila le case e gli edifici danneggiati.
Il 20% degli 8.743 edifici ispezionati finora sono stati completamente distrutti. Le persone colpite sono complessivamente 116 mila, delle quali 66 mila hanno subito danni. Delle 56 scuole ispezionate, 23 sono agibili, dieci lo sono in parte, mentre 21 sono inutilizzabili, totalmente o in parte. Gli sfollati vengono ospitati in tende della protezione e container e unità abitative
