Gigi Proietti è morto per gravi problemi cardiaci, dopo essere stato ricoverato in terapia intensiva in una clinica romana. La famiglia ha mantenuto il massimo riserbo. Una carriera ricca, lunghissima, più di mezzo secolo in scena e sul set.

Ho capito che recitare mi piaceva tantissimo, è diventata la mia vita. Ma per papà non era la scelta giusta, era preoccupato e mi ripeteva: ‘Prendi un pezzo di carta, se piove o tira vento è una sicurezza’”.
Un vero mattatore, che passa dalla musica (fa il verso a Louis Armstrong, diverte con Nun me rompe er ca’ ) alle celebri macchiette di Petrolini, per arrivare a Shakespeare. I primi successi dell’attore romano arrivano in una cantina in Prati in cui recita Brecht e poi con lo Stabile dell’Aquila diretto da Antonio Calenda, che lo guida in testi di Gombrowicz e di Moravia.
