Paura nelle ultime ore a Indianapolis. La Cbs che cita notizie della Wttv riporta di una sparatoria avvenuta in una struttura della FedEx nella zona sudovest della città, vicino all’Indianapolis International Airport. L’Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department ha reso noto che gli agenti hanno riferito di “numerose vittime”. Secondo le dichiarazioni di una portavoce ai giornalisti, il presunto aggressore si sarebbe tolto la vita.
“Non riteniamo ci sia una minaccia attiva per la comunità in questo momento”, ha detto. La polizia non conferma il bilancio dei feriti, ma solo che diverse persone sono state trasferite in ospedale, scrive l’Indianapolis Star. Mentre non ci sono per ora notizie sulle vittime.
Secondo il giornale, passate da poco le 23 l’Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department ha risposto a una segnalazione di colpi d’arma da fuoco. E gli agenti sono arrivati a sparatoria in corso. La portavoce, Genae Cook, ha confermato – riporta la Cbs – che “ci sono molte persone con ferite compatibili con colpi d’arma da fuoco”. Ma non ha precisato quante siano e in quali condizioni.
In una nota sulla “tragica sparatoria nella nostra struttura FedEx Ground nei pressi dell’aeroporto di Indianapolis”, la FedEx afferma che sta cercando di raccogliere maggiori informazioni e “collaborando con le autorità”. “La sicurezza è la nostra priorità – aggiungono – I nostri pensieri vanno alle persone coinvolte”.
