Lunghe file davanti ai negozi in diverse città del Regno Unito fin dalla mattina presto di oggi 12 aprile 2021 in attesa della riapertura dopo il lockdown deciso a dicembre dalle autorità britanniche per contrastare la pandemia da Covid-19.
E’ la fase due della ‘road map’ stabilita dal governo britannico per la graduale riapertura del Paese e si comincia da pub (sebbene con il limite al servizio all’aperto), negozi di beni anche non essenziali, parrucchieri e centri estetici, anche palestre.
A Oxford Street a Londra, una delle vie dello shopping più frequentate al mondo e lasciata deserta dalla pandemia, si sono formate lunghe file davanti ai negozi in attesa che aprano i battenti.
Resta tuttavia l’incognita su come queste prolungate chiusure e il rischio Covid che persiste possano aver già cambiato il modo in cui si fa shopping. Di questo tema ne fa subito uno slogan lo storico grande magazzino di Oxford Street, Selfridges, che in occasione della riapertura ha issato sulla sua facciata una scritta a lettere cubitali che recita “Let’s change the way we shop” (In italiano: “Cambiamo il modo in cui facciamo compere”).
