Oltre 100 migranti sono annegati al largo della Libia. L’allarme arriva da Francesco Creazzo di Sos Mediterranee che ricostruisce la tragica giornata di ieri, quando Alarm Phone ha lanciato l’allerta “alle autorità e alla Ocean Viking” su tre barche in pericolo: una con 40 persone, “mai rintracciata”, e due gommoni con a bordo tra le 100 e le 120 persone ciascuno.

Il primo è stato ritrovato ribaltato. “Abbiamo avvistato dieci corpi – ha detto Creazzo – ma il mare era molto mosso, impossibile ci siano sopravvissuti”. L’altro è stato riportato in Libia dalle autorità: a bordo i cadaveri di una mamma e del suo bimbo.

Intanto l’ong Sea-Watch International denuncia: “Le autorità dell’Ue e Frontex sapevano della situazione di emergenza, ma hanno negato il soccorso“. “La Ocean Viking è arrivata sul posto solo per trovare dieci cadaveri”. Lo scrive su Twitter Sea-Watch International, impegnata nel salvataggio di migranti nel Mar Mediterraneo, pubblicando una foto dell’equipaggio della Sea Watch 4 che ha osservato un momento di silenzio per commemorare le persone morte “in questo scioccante incidente”.

“Mercoledì è scattato l’allarme, ma con la Ocean Viking eravamo a 10 ore dalla zona segnalata, ci siamo diretti inizialmente verso il barchino più piccolo perché era quello relativamente più vicino, ma nonostante le ricerche non siamo riusciti a trovarlo”. A quel punto è arrivata la segnalazione sul fatto che uno dei due gommoni fosse in grande difficoltà. “Così abbiamo invertito la rotta e ci siamo diretti verso il gommone – spiega ancora Creazzo – abbiamo navigato tutta la notte, ma quando siamo arrivati e, insieme ad altre tre navi mercantili che erano lì, abbiamo iniziato a cercare, abbiamo avvistato il relitto capovolto e una decina di corpi. Le condizioni del mare erano proibitive”. “Dalle autorità – prosegue – non ci è arrivato alcun supporto, neppure il coordinamento delle operazioni tra le navi che stavano cercando il gommone”.

Le notizie sul terzo gommone sono arrivate invece da Safa Msheli, portavoce di UN migration, ha spiegato ancora Sos Mediterranee. Sarebbe stato riportato in Libia dalle autorità, “il che significa che i migranti sono stati messi in stato di detenzione”, conclude Creazzo. “Gli stati – ha twittato Msheli – si sono rifiutati di agire per salvare la vita di oltre 100 persone. Hanno supplicato e inviato richieste di soccorso per due giorni prima di annegare nel cimitero blu del Mediterraneo. È questa l’eredità dell’Europa?”.

“Nel pomeriggio la nave My Rose ha avvistato il gommone, ci siamo avvicinati ed è stato navigare in un mare di cadaveri. Letteralmente. Del natante restava poco, delle persone neanche il nome”. E’ il drammatico racconto Alessandro Porro, Presidente di Sos Mediterranee Italia, che era a bordo della Ocean Viking, intervenuta nel luogo del naufragio di oltre 100 migranti. Porro parla di onde alte sei metri e ricorda le ricerche “senza aiuto da parte degli Stati. Fosse cascato un aereo di linea ci sarebbero state le marine di mezza Europa, ma erano solo migranti, concime del cimitero mediterraneo”.
