Una nuova mutazione del coronavirus, di nuovo in India. Il ministero della Sanità di New Delhi ha annunciato che nel Paese è stata individuata una nuova variante virus.
Una “doppia mutazione”, diversa da quelle già scoperte. Anche se, precisano, in un comunicato: “Le nuove varianti non sono state rilevate in numero sufficiente per stabilire una relazione diretta o spiegare il rapido aumento dei casi in alcuni Stati” dell’India.
In Brasile, dove l’epidemia continua ad avanzare senza sosta, si è registrato un nuovo record di vittime giornaliere. Sono 3.251 le persone che hanno perso la vita per complicanze legate al coronavirus. A essere maggiormente colpito è lo stato di Sao Paulo, quello più popolato, con 1.021 morti in più rispetto a ieri.
Lo riferiscono le autorità sanitarie locali, aggiornando a 298.676 il totale delle persone che in Brasile hanno perso la vita dopo aver contratto il Covid-19.
È invece salito a 12,1 milioni il totale delle persone contagiate, numero che lo rende il secondo Paese più colpito solo dopo gli Stati Uniti.
