Covid India – L’esplosione di una bombola d’ossigeno in un ospedale, nel reparto Covid: il bilancio delle vittime è drammatico. Le ultime notizie dal mondo e dall’Italia aggiornate in tempo reale tutte le ultime news 24 ore su 24.

L’India ormai è fuori controllo: si è registrato un record di quasi 300mila nuovi casi di Covid-19 nelle ultime 24 ore, come riferisce il ministero della Salute di Nuova Delhi. Viene così aggiornato a 15.616.130 il totale delle persone contagiate dal coronavirus nel Paese, 295.041 in più rispetto al giorno precedente.

Sono invece 2.023 le persone che hanno perso la vita per complicanze nell’ultima giornata, aggiornando a 182.553 il totale delle vittime. Il governo ha comunque escluso un lockdown nazionale, riservando la misura per la capitale Nuova Delhi fino al 26 aprile. Finora in India sono state somministrate oltre 130 milioni di dosi di vaccino.

Nel frattempo, gli ospedali di Nuova Delhi si ritrovano pericolosamente a corto di ossigeno. La produzione dei principali farmaci per il coronavirus è rallentata o addirittura interrotta in alcune fabbriche e ci sono stati ritardi nell’invito a presentare offerte per impianti di generazione di ossigeno, secondo quanto riportato dalla stampa locale. 

L’esplosione di una bombola

Proprio l’ossigeno ha causato una strage: almeno 22 pazienti hanno perso la vita all’ospedale di Zakir Hussain, della città di Nashik, nello stato del Maharashtra, per lo scoppio di una bombola di ossigeno.

Lo hanno reso noto i responsabili dell’istituto, spiegando che l’incidente è stato causato da una valvola della bombola che aveva una perdita. Altri pazienti sono in gravi condizioni per le ustioni subite.

Il Maharashtra, uno degli stati indiani più estesi e più colpiti dal Covid è in lockdown da due settimane fino alla fine del mese.

I familiari dei pazienti sono costretti in molti casi a pagare tariffe esorbitanti sul mercato nero per medicine e ossigeno e i gruppi di WhatsApp sono inondati di disperate richieste di aiuto.
