Secondo il professor Alberto Zangrillo, i malati Covid-19 negli ospedali ad oggi sono il 13%. Una percentuale nettamente inferiore rispetto a quella che si registrava un anno fa quando i pazienti positivi al virus erano il 50%. I numeri riguardano il Pronto Soccorso dell’ospedale San Raffaele di Milano del cui reparto di rianimazione è primario.
Secondo i numeri forniti da Zangrillo in un’intervista rilasciata al Giornale, il primo accesso al San Raffaele conta una media di 120 pazienti al giorno. “Siamo passati da una media del 50% di pazienti Covid della prima ondata al 30% di ottobre al 13% di febbraio-marzo 2021. Quindi almeno 8 pazienti su 10 sono affetti da gravi patologie che nulla c’entrano con il virus“.
Si tratta di dati che confermano, secondo il professore, la necessità di un’attenzione sempre più alta nei confronti dei pazienti che giungono in ospedale per motivi diversi dal Covid e che spesso riguardano malattia gravi: “La realtà di chi lavora in ospedale e deve occuparsi di tutti è completamente diversa da quella narrata quotidianamente ormai da più di un anno sui media – spiega – purtroppo si continua a morire di cancro, di malattie cardiovascolari e di malattie neurologiche”.
Da qui la necessità di puntare sulla medicina territoriale: “Io ho sempre sostenuto che una società evoluta meriti messaggi chiari e responsabili – ha continuato Zangrillo – la profilassi vaccinale è la priorità, giocare tutta la partita in ospedale equivale a giocare una partita di calcio 8 contro 11, il medico di base è fondamentale”. E in merito alle misure di contenimento adottate dal governo ha spiegato che bisogna puntare su vaccini, cure tempestive e senso di responsabilità che sono le uniche armi che abbiamo per imparare a convivere col virus: “Così possiamo far rivivere il Paese – conclude – ce lo chiedono gli anziani abbandonati, i giovani angosciati, le famiglie distrutte dai debiti”.
