E’ stato trovato un caso di variante nigeriana al Covid-19 anche in Valle d’Aosta. Ad essere contagiato – secondo quanto appreso dall’ANSA – è un uomo residente in val D’Ayas.
La variante nigeriana è una rara mutazione del virus. Secondo gli esperti potrebbe essere resistente anche al vaccino e sulla quale sono in corso degli approfondimenti tecnico-scientifici. Il primo caso è stato isolato a Brescia all’inizio di marzo (dopo la variante rara molto simile trovata a Napoli. In quel caso finì il calciatore nigeriano Osimhen sul banco degli imputati).
Da quanto si apprende la scoperta è avvenuta nell’ambito di uno dei due focolai sviluppatisi nei giorni scorsi ad Ayas. Nel comune, come raccontava ieri il sindaco Alex Brunod, sono ad oggi 43 le persone risultate positive al Covid, di cui tre ricoverate “in via precauzionale e in condizioni discrete” in ospedale e le altre “praticamente tutte asintomatiche o con sintomi lievi”.
La variante “nigeriana” al momento non è considerata preoccupante come l’inglese, ma è sorvegliata speciale al fine di verificarne l’aumentata trasmissibilità e/o per valutare eventuali interferenze con la copertura vaccinale.
