Cani anti Covid – Le ultime notizie sul coronavirus ed il nuovo test tramite il fiuto dei cani anti Covid.
All’aeroporto di Helsinki è in funzione un nuovo test rapido.
No, non si tratta di un test sul sangue o qualcosa di simile.
Il test, per appurare la positività o negatività al Covid-19, è effettuato da cani.
No, non si tratta di uno scherzo.
Ma come avviene questo curioso test?
Cani addestrati rilevano la presenza del virus in circa 10 secondi.
Il tutto avviene tramite il fiuto dei cani che, odorando il sudore dei passeggeri in arrivo, raccolto con delle salviettine, riescono in pochissimo tempo ad accorgersi della presenza del virus.
In caso di allarme da parte dell’unità cinofila, i passeggeri vengono sottoposti al classico tampone, per appurare con certezza la positività.
I cani sono già stati utilizzati per rilevare malattie come il cancro e il diabete, così sono stati fatti test dall’università per vedere se gli animali fossero in grado di rilevare anche il coronavirus, ed il risultato è stato stupefacente.
“I cani sono stati in grado di identificare il virus con un’accuratezza quasi del 100%, anche giorni prima che un paziente sviluppasse i sintomi”.
A dirlo la supervisore al programma, Anna Hielm-Bjorkman dell’Università di Helsinki, come riportato dal Guardian, ha spiegato gli sviluppi futuri, andando oltre i controlli in aeroporto.
Quest’ultima ha, infatti, dichiarato: “Se funziona, potrebbe rivelarsi un buon metodo di screening in altri luoghi” come ospedali, case di cura o centri sportivi”.
Il test rapido con i cani anti-Covid, dovrebbe partire a breve anche all’aeroporto di Dubai.
