Rispondendo alle domande di Mara Venier, Massimo Ranieri ha raccontato come ha vissuto da marzo in poi, quando il Covid ha preso il sopravvento sulle vite di tutti.
“Come sto? Sto come stiamo tutti quanti. Il vaccine day potrebbe essere il giorno più grande del 21° secolo. Certo, i nostri genitori hanno subito la guerra. Le bombe, i ricoveri. Il Covid invece è un mascalzone, è tremendo. Non si fa vedere in faccia. E’ subdolo, ti aggredisce e tu non puoi fare niente. Oggi però cominciamo a vedere uno spiraglio di luce lontana in questo tunnel terribile che ci ha chiuso e ci ha fatto percorrere la vita”.
“Mi hanno chiesto a cosa aspiro in questo momento. Io ho risposto: ad un abbraccio”. Su queste parole Ranieri si commuove in diretta e con gli occhi lucidi continua il suo pensiero: “Poi noi siamo latini, non riusciamo a salutarci senza abbracciarci, toccarci. Ci avete levato metà della vita. Un momento vitale. Alla nostra età poi se ci togli 1-2 anni è terribile. Io lo sento come lo sentiranno tutti coloro che ci stanno guardando dalla Tv”.
“Il mio pensiero ora va a chi non sta lavorando nel mondo dello spettacolo. Macchinisti, tecnici, elettricisti. Tutti quelli che non si vedono. Io l’1 marzo ero a Torino a fare uno spettacolo. Il 3 sarei dovuto andare ad Alba. Da quella sera io sono fermo perché ad Alba fu trovato 1 positivo al Covid ad Alba. Presi la macchina e tornai a casa. Da quel momento sono rimasto chiuso in casa 60-70 giorni. Mai più uscito. Sentire quel silenzio assordante che ci devastava è stato terribile”.
