Quattro persone, appartenenti allo stesso nucleo familiare, sono finite al pronto soccorso dell’ospedale Barone Lombardo di Canicattì a causa di un avvelenamento per aver mangiato della mandragola, una specie vegetale altamente tossica.
Una di loro, una donna, è stata subito trasferita – con elisoccorso – all’ospedale di Sciacca dove è stata ricoverata in rianimazione. I quattro sono stati avvelenati dalla specie vegetale, che somiglia alla borragine, dopo averla raccolta in campagna.
Subito dopo averla ingerita si sono sentiti male e, in stato di allucinazione, sono arrivati al pronto soccorso dell’ospedale di Canicattì dove sono stati sottoposti a lavanda gastrica. Tutti sono stati posti, per 36 ore, in stato di osservazione cardiaca e respiratoria.
